Passo San Pellegrino is crossed by the SS346, which links Moena in the Trentino Val di Fassa with Falcade in the Belluno valley. The Moena side leaves the valley floor and climbs east on long straight ramps broken by only a few hairpins, passing the resorts of Fango and Alochet before the road steepens near the col. The pass has appeared in the Giro d'Italia since 1963; Gilberto Simoni won here in 2003, and in 2006 it hosted a summit stage finish for the first time, won by Juan Manuel Garate.
