The Altopiano del Montasio, high in the Julian Alps above Chiusaforte, was a Giro d'Italia summit finish in 2013 (stage 10, won by Rigoberto Urán with Vincenzo Nibali in pink). The full climb from Chiusaforte is a long Hors Catégorie — over 20 km — climbing past the Sella Nevea saddle before the final ramps onto the Montasio plateau.
