The Glaubenbielen (1611 m) carries the Panoramastrasse over the Emmental Alps, linking Giswil in Obwalden with Soerenberg in the Entlebuch. The Giswil side is the hard one and the canonical climb: roughly 12 km gaining about 1116 m at a steady 9.1 percent average, with the steepest stretch around 13 percent. The road climbs the northern flank of the Giswilerstock (2011 m), so it is consistently steep with views back toward Pilatus and the Stanserhorn. Wikipedia gives the pass road a maximum grade of 12 percent.
