Passo Vivione (1828 m) links the Val di Scalve in the province of Bergamo with the Val Camonica in the province of Brescia, with the summit lying entirely in Bergamo territory. The canonical cycling ascent climbs the Val Camonica side along the SS294 from the village of Forno d'Allione, where the road branches off the valley floor. It runs roughly 19 km: the lower half is a stepped ascent through forest with stretches that allow recovery, while the final kilometres steepen into double-digit ramps before the pass. The road is normally closed from autumn to spring because of snow, and a refuge with a bar sits at the top.
