The road up the Val di Cogne from Aymavilles, into the heart of the Gran Paradiso, was a Giro d'Italia summit finish in 2022 (stage 15, won solo by Giulio Ciccone). About 19 km at 5.6% to the village of Cogne at 1,534 m — not the steepest, but a genuine Grand Tour finish in one of the Alps' great glacial-valley settings.
