Pila, the ski station on the balcony directly above Aosta, is a repeat Giro d'Italia summit finish — Robert Millar in 1987, Udo Bölts in 1992, and Jonas Vingegaard on the 2026 queen stage. About 17 km at 7.2% from the valley floor, a steady Hors Catégorie hauling you 1,200 m up out of the Aosta valley to the resort.
