Col d'Allos sits at 2250 m on the D908, linking Barcelonnette in the Ubaye valley with Colmars in the Verdon valley. The classic north ascent from Barcelonnette runs about 17 km at an average near 6.5%, gaining roughly 1100 m on a narrow road that turns to hairpins above the tree line near La Foux d'Allos. The pass featured in the Tour de France 33 times between 1911 and 2015; François Faber was the first rider over it in 1911.
